Heritage Month: Over a Thousand People Celebrated at Molymet

In May, Molymet celebrated Heritage Month with over one thousand attendees, solidifying its role as a key cultural experience for the San Bernardo community. The event featured art exhibitions, heritage tours, intergenerational activities, theatrical performances, and live music, uniting employees, residents, students, senior citizens, and local cultural and social organizations.

The opening of two art rooms at Parque y Casona Las Lilas de Nos marked the beginning of the month, featuring works by local artists Lorena Valenzuela and Manuel Villagra. Valenzuela’s exhibition, Spinning the Journey, showcased traditional textile techniques through pieces created alongside the San Bernardo crewel embroidery workshop, using wool sourced from the Geonuts orchard. Villagra, meanwhile, captivated visitors with Memories with a Wooden Soul, a heartwarming collection of automata that brought to life everyday scenes from Chilean life in the 1980s.

One of the event’s highlights was the premiere of an original play that reconstructed the history of the Nos area and the old Fundo Las Lilas, the estate where part of Molymet’s facilities now stand. The play was performed for hundreds of people on weekends throughout the month, as part of the National Heritage Day celebrations. The opening day also featured a live performance by the San Bernardo Big Band, a group sponsored by Molymet, whose music added to the festive atmosphere of the occasion.
