With an investment of approximately US$ 40 million, the company establishes its first industrial facility in the United States, expanding its presence in the advanced and high-performance materials market.
Molymet continues to strengthen its position as a global leader in the strategic metals industry with the creation of Molymet Alloys, its new subsidiary in the United States. This initiative — involving an investment of approximately US$ 40 million — marks a milestone in the company’s international expansion strategy and its entry into the advanced alloys market for high-impact industries such as aerospace, energy, defense, and semiconductors.
The first step in this new stage is materialized through the acquisition of Rhenium Alloys, LLC, a company with over 50 years of experience in the manufacturing of finished and semi-finished products made from molybdenum, tungsten, and rhenium — materials essential for semiconductor production.
This transaction, subject to approval by U.S. regulatory authorities, will enable Molymet to expand its production capacity and develop higher value-added solutions, complementing its existing industrial and commercial network in Chile, Mexico, Germany, and Belgium.
