Industrial Sector
Products and Services
Molymet is engaged in the manufacturing, on its own or through third parties, of molybdenum, ferro molybdenum, ammonium perrhenate and other alloys or industrial products derived from minerals that contain molybdenum that are present along with it in its natural state or as a byproduct of other prior industrial processes. The services we are authorized to provide include installing or operating power or industrial facilities of any type
and developing, acquiring or selling products, materials, substances, byproducts, merchandise and derivatives of all types related to our corporate purpose. With over 40 years’ experience, Molymet leads worldwide production of rhenium and has the capacity to process around 35% of the global molybdenum market.

The molybdenum price averaged US$ 15.85 lbMo in 2021, with a clear, continuous upward trend during the year. It reached its highest average value in September of US$ 19.51 lbMo, followed by a small, downward correction in the fourth quarter, averaging US$ 18.89 lbMo for the three-month period. This price trend is clearly linked to economic recovery in the main markets where our products are consumed, such as Europe, North America and Brazil.

Competition
Based on its molybdenum roasting capacity, Molymet’s main competitors in the market are Jinzhou China Dragon Moly Co. Ltd. (JNCD), Jinduicheng Molybdenum Co., Ltd. (JDC), Freeport-McMoRan Inc. and Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc.—both based in the US—and Sociedad de Procesamiento de Molibdeno Ltda., (Molyb), a Codelco subsidiary located in Mejillones, Chile.
Legal Framework
We place great importance on doing business in strict and faithful compliance with current laws and regulations. In addition to a shared national framework (i.e. the constitution and civil, labor, health and general administrative regulations), our activities are regulated in two main areas: the securities market and the environment.

Office Locations
We have commercial offices for distributing products and attending to customer requirements in the diverse markets where we do business. They are located in:
Sales offices
Production Facilities
Office: Blvd. Luis Donaldo Colosio Nº450, Torre 1, Nivel 5, Local 1, Hermosillo, México
MolymetNos: Camino Peñuelas Nº0258, Nos, San Bernardo, Chile
Product distribution in those markets is scheduled directly by the Molymet team. To accomplish this, we have commercial agreements with the main shipping companies and warehouses in the cities of Baltimore (United States), Rotterdam (Holland), Tianjin (China), Busan (Korea) and Nhava Sheva (India).
Suppliers
We obtain the raw materials for our production processes from two primarily sources:
Direct purchases from suppliers related to copper mining, consisting mainly of three entities that each represented 20% or more of total supply in 2021.
Tolling, where the raw material is provided by the customer to be transformed into finished products that the customer itself sells. In this particular segment, we have three main customers that represent around 30% of business volumes.
We procure molybdenum concentrate supply through multi-year contracts with domestic and foreign copper companies that produce this raw material as a byproduct. Suppliers of this input include:
Codelco, through its Chuquicamata, Salvador, Andina and El Teniente divisions
Minera Los Pelambres
Southern Copper Corporation (SCC)
Mexicana de Cobre S. A. de C. V.
Anglo American Sur A.
Minera Las Bambas S. A.
BHP Billiton
Kennecott Molybdenum Company
Highland Valley Copper
Anglo American Chile Inversiones
Sierra Gorda SCM
Customers
Molybdenum is an important raw material for the steel, construction, super alloys and chemical products industries, among others. As such, our revenue from molybdenum and rhenium product sales consists almost entirely of exports to customers located on all continents.
In addition, we sell to trading and mining companies that resell the product and maintain tolling or processing contracts with Molymet or its subsidiaries. Our main customers in 2021 included:
- Plansee SE
- Seah M&S Corp.
- MP Diffusion
- Columbia
No customer individually represents 10% or more of the revenue generated through direct sales from the company’s own raw materials. The largest customer represents 8.5% of billing and the second 5%. Through its offices in the United States, Brazil, England and China, Molymet Group handles around 20% of global demand for molybdenum products.
In the tolling sector, where the raw material is received to be transformed but is not a company asset, Molymet has three main customers that represent around 85% of its annual business volume in this sector.
