Molymet’s corporate building, which was planned, designed and built following “green building” guidelines and principles, includes every technological element required for an effective energy control and low impact on the environment. The company’s corporate building was awarded the Platinum LEED Certification (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design), the most challenging certification on environmental issues, land the first obtained in Chile and South America.
The project to build new plant to elaborate Pure Products in Sadaci was launched, with a foreseen investment of USD 44 million. This plant was aimed at producing products with a higher added value and at providing more flexibility to the processing of molybdenum concentrates to our customers.

Through the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof of the Research and Development Building, we reduced the total electricity consumption generated by the building by 70%. In this way we achieved a great step in terms of Sustainability and reinforced our commitment to the care and protection of the environment.
The Association of Chemical Industrialists of Chile recognized our subsidiary MolymetNos for its "Relationship with communities and response to emergencies", with the Responsible Care 2022 award. This thanks to the project: "Comprehensive management of water resources with the community: Implementation of the program of education, awareness and cleaning of ditches and canals in the commune of San Bernardo.”
This project, in cooperation with the installation of photovoltaic panels in our Corporate Building, meant a 17% increase in the use of renewable electrical energy at Molymet, reaching a total of 72%. In this way, we surpassed the commitment that we had proposed to use 60% renewable energy in our operations and positioned ourselves above the industry average.
The Institute of Mining Engineers of Chile (Instituto de Ingenieros en Minas de Chile), known as IIMCh in Spanish, during its 72nd annual convention has honored us for our contribution to the mining industry by giving us the José Tomás Urmeneta award. In June, to achieve our goal of equal treatment and opportunities, we decided to implement a DE&I policy based on equal treatment and opportunities to guarantee an equal work environment free of discrimination taken by our company and subsidiaries.
Together with the Universidad de Los Andes, to ensure that we add value to the communities, we created the “Molymet Scholarship” (Beca Molymet), an university scholarship meant to be seen as a social support and intended to benefit and finance the career of young people who reside in the communes of San Bernardo, Mejillones and Antofagasta in Chile.
Inaugurated on October 25 by our Vice President of Operations America, Edgar Pape, this new center in Mexico will be a space for collaboration and an epicenter of initiatives so that ideas become solutions to help us have an impact on our purpose.
